What should I bring with me on a Seas The Bay trip?

Warm layers of clothing, sensible flat shoes, a snack and something to drink. The temperature out at sea can differ dramatically from that on land. Bring a snack and something to drink, there are no shops out at sea.

    Seas the Bay  is fully  licenced for 9 anglers plus 2 crew.


    How much does a full charter cost?

    Do you supply drinks? 

    Yes, supply both tea, coffee & cold drinks free of charge.

    Do you supply rods & reels?

    Yes, Seas The Bay supply the latest excellent quality rods & reels for a small free should they be required.

    Do you supply end tackle?

    One item of end tackle is supplied with the use of our rods. Tackle is also available for purchase aboard Seas The Bay. Tackle advice can also be given when booking your trip.

    Do you supply Bait?

    Your bait can be bought from various shops at the dock. Alternatively let us arrange fresh bait for you. We can arrange this when you book. There is a charge for this as the bait supplied will be of the highest quality and not a sorry mess left over from the previous week.

    When is the best time of year?

    We fish all year around. However certain months are better for particular species. Please call if you have a particular target in mind. 

    Can we keep the fish we catch?

    Within reason there is no problem with you keeping fish you catch for personal consumption. Please note that we are a recreational boat and the sale of fish caught from Seas The Bay is illegal. With conservation and the protection of our sport for future generations in mind we actively encourage a catch return policy.

     Is there easy access to Seas The Bay?

    There are steps & ladders to negotiate so anyone with limited mobility please bare this in mind

    Is there car parking?

    There is public parking available at the rs free of charge. Please note that parking is at the owners own risk. Always ensure your car is parked at the high tide mark and not causing and obstruction to other pier users.

    How do you accept payment?

    A deposit of 100 euros is required to secure your full charter booking. We have a secure online payment system integrated into our website were you can securely book using all major credit and debit cards. Balance is paid cash on the day.

    Can we bring alcohol aboard?

    No, we do not allow any alcohol aboard Seas The Bay.

    Will we catch fish?

    When it comes to the world of fishing one is never guaranteed to actually catch fish. Your best chances though for catching fish are on the full day charters. These full day charters provide the vital time to reach and stay in the best fishing grounds.

    What about safety at sea?

    Your safety whilst on our vessel is of paramount importance to us. When you sail with us, you will be given a brief lecture and shown the location of such things as all safety gear. The idea is that, in the highly unlikely event of an emergency, everyone on board knows what to do.

    What about cancelations?

    If you cancel 7 or more days in advance your deposit will be refunded or the trip will be rescheduled. 

    • If you do not cancel in time your deposit will be lost.
    • If we have to cancel the trip all money will be refunded.
    • We may have to cancel a trip the night before departure due to weather conditions or circumstances beyond our control.
    • Please call us 24 hours before a trip to confirm weather conditions are favourable.

    What about sea sickness?

    We generally fish within the sheltered waters of Sheephaven Bay, so sea sickness is generally not a concern. Eat a good non greasy breakfast and avoid alcohol is the best advice.

We are new to fishing, are lessons provided?

Yes. Beginners are welcome and lessons are provided free of charge.
